KKK story amateur journalism - McDowell

The Minister for Justice has reacted to the support pledged to him by the Ku Klux Klan.

Michael McDowell has described the article in The Dubliner magazine as an example of amateur journalism.

In it, Ray Larson of the Ku Klux Klan is quoted as praising the Government's motion to change the citizenship laws here.

Minister McDowell said: "The silly season has got to a very silly state when an Irish journalist rings up people around the world who would have difficulty locating Ireland on the globe and starts asking them about subject about which they know nothing and then reports these as if they have any significance."
