Gardaí name the victim of Dublin assault

Gardaí have named the man who died after an assault in Dublin last night.

He was 56-year old Martin Reilly from Lynches Lane in Clondalkin.

Shortly before midnight, Mr Reilly was involved in an incident at Island Street, was injured and brought to Saint James' Hospital where he later died.

Gardaí had arrested two people in connection with the incident - a 25-year old man and a 40-year old woman.

The man has been charged under the Offences against the Persons Act and the woman has been released.
