Young man killed in Donegal road accident
A man in his early twenties was killed this morning when he was struck by a car as he was walking at Green Banks, in Muss, near Buncrana, Co Donegal.
His friend, who was walking with him, survived.
On Thursday night, three young people were killed in the same area when the car in which they were travelling hit a tree.
They were 18-year-old Shane Cuffe and 18-year-old Owen Patrick Doherty, both from Buncrana, and 16-year-old Aine O’Leary, from the Skerries area of Dublin.
The three died when the car in which they were travelling collided with a bridge and tree in Ballymagan at around 11pm.
Another 16-year-old girl was injured in the crash and is recovering in hospital in Derry.
Gardaí have revealed that she was the only person in the car who was wearing a seat belt.
