Oireachtas committee to ask Curtin for evidence
The Oireachtas committee investigating the actions of Judge Brian Curtin is reportedly set to ask the judge to hand over evidence and co-operate with its inquiry.
Reports this morning said the committee would make the requests in a letter to Judge Curtin’s legal representatives.
Judge Curtin is currently seeking a High Court ruling that the evidence used to charge him with possessing child pornography cannot be used by the Oireachtas committee.
The judge’s trial collapsed earlier this year when it emerged that the evidence was seized illegally because a warrant used to search his house was out of date.
