ERHA warns on sun exposure

The Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) has issued a warning about the dangers of sun exposure.

The authority said yesterday that such exposure is the leading cause of skin cancer, which accounts for around 30% of all cancers diagnosed in Ireland.

The ERHA also said 90% of skin cancers were preventable as virtually all the risk came from the sun and sun beds.
