Hoax bomb defused outside Four Courts

Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a hoax device found outside the Four Courts in Dublin this morning.

Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a hoax device found outside the Four Courts in Dublin this morning.

The device, a package wrapped in cloth with a timer attached, was discovered at the front entrance to the building at around 8am.

The Four Courts were immediately evacuated and the Inns Quay area was completely sealed off while the package was dealt with.

It was later declared to be a hoax.
