SF slams Govt’s decision not to attend North meeting

Sinn Féin has accused the Government of reneging on a commitment to attend this afternoon’s annual general meeting of Lisburn City Council.

The party claimed the Fianna Fáil-Progressive Democrats coalition had agreed to attend the meeting, but backed down in the face of unionist opposition.

The Government had accepted Sinn Féin’s invitation to the meeting, much to the annoyance of unionists, who claimed it was unwarranted, unwelcome and unprecedented interference by a foreign government.
