Murphy hits out at talk of European superstate

It is nonsense to claim that the proposed European Constitution is a step towards a European superstate, Northern Ireland Secretary Paul Murphy insisted today.

As British Prime Minister Tony Blair prepared to face MPs for the first time since EU leaders agreed the constitution on Friday, Mr Murphy insisted the deal was good for Northern Ireland.
