The Government has advised Irish people living in Saudi Arabia to exercise increased vigilance due to an upsurge in attacks on Westerners in the country.

Irish nationals have been advised to register with the Irish embassy, to keep a low profile, to limit travel within Saudi Arabia and to be extra cautious in areas popular with tourists, such as restaurants and shopping malls.
