Tax deadline looms for overseas account holders

Today is the final deadline for offshore account holders to declare their tax settlements in what promises to be the largest tax influx to the Revenue Commissioners in a single day.

More than €1bn is expected to flow into state coffers after the initial deadline was extended by nine days after an "overwhelming" response according to those involved in processing the settlements.
