SF calls on unionists to condemn attacks

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams has said that unionist leaders must speak out in condemnation after a pipe bomb was found outside the home of a party member in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The victim, Michael Agnew, says he has yet to hear any condemnation of the attempted bombing at his home this morning.

He said growing tensions between republicans and unionists in the predominantly unionist area had led him to be extra vigilant.

Mr Agnew claimed that without this vigilance on his part the pipebomb would not have been found before it exploded.
