SIPTU’s taxi driver branch has called on Dublin City Council to sanction a fare increase in response to the increasing cost of fuel.

The branch claimed taxi drivers were suffering financially because of recent fuel price increases and had no way of adjusting their costs to meet the challenge like other businesses.
