Figures show 140,000 drivers hit with points

Latest figures from the Department of Transport have shown more than 140,000 drivers now have penalty points on their licence.

The figures, released to coincide with the June bank holiday weekend, also showed 27 people now have 10 points, just two points short of the 12 required for disqualification.
