Asthma 'not being taken seriously enough'

The Asthma Society has reiterated its view that the illness is not taken seriously enough in Ireland, even among sufferers.

The society has claimed that 90% of asthma sufferers are not treating their condition properly.

It has also estimated that 400,000 Irish people suffer from asthma – the highest prevalence in the EU – and that the figures are on the rise.

The organisation is due to hold a seminar in Dublin today advising people how to control asthma.
