Junior Minister Tom Parlon has revealed that the Government is examining recommendations on a new national flood policy.

The recommendations were submitted by a review group established in early 2003 to define the roles of various agencies in dealing with major floods.

Mr Parlon was speaking at the launch of the Office of Public Works’ latest annual report.

The report showed that the OPW’s sale of state assets was continuing unabated, with a maintenance depot in Dublin’s Lad Lane fetching €22.5m and a former Revenue office on Lord Edward Street selling last week for €8.75m.
