Man dies in road accident near Bandon

A man has been killed in a road accident in Co Cork.

The accident happened on the Balineen Road near Bandon at around 2pm.

Gardaí are at the scene and the road has been closed off.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have named three of the five men killed in road accidents yesterday.

Two men were killed in a car crash near Ballybofey in Co Donegal in the early hours of yesterday morning.

They were named as 18-year-old Marcus McAnenny and 23-year-old Gerard Stevenson from Strabane in Co Tyrone.

In Co Wexford, 24-year-old Shane O'Neill from Adamstown in New Ross died after an accident at Carrigbyrne near the main Newross-Wexford road.
