Rail line to be diverted to make way for new ring road

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has reportedly approved plans to divert the Dublin to Kilkenny rail line to facilitate construction of the new Kilkenny bypass.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan has reportedly approved plans to divert the Dublin to Kilkenny rail line to facilitate construction of the new Kilkenny bypass.

Reports this morning said the rail line was to be re-routed by more than a kilometre to allow construction of the new 4.2km ring road.
