Irishman appointed head of Red Cross in Ukraine

The Red Cross has appointed a former Irish journalist as the head of its operations in Ukraine.

The Red Cross has appointed a former Irish journalist as the head of its operations in Ukraine.

Joe Lowry, a former news editor with North Dublin Newspapers, will run the Red Cross’ office in Kiev.

Mr Lowry has worked on several Red Cross projects and other humanitarian operations since the early 1990s.
