North: Bonfires cost taxpayer £1m a year

It costs the public purse over £1m (€1.5m) a year to deal with Northern Ireland’s traditional bonfires, it was revealed today.

A report also showed that more than 70% of the material burnt is trade waste such as wooden pallets and tyres.
