The Campaign Against the Racist Referendum has described the Government’s proposed restriction of citizenship rights as unjust, unfounded and unnecessary.

Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, which is part of the campaign, said the planned referendum was an attempt to remove equal rights from certain people for the convenience of the political establishment.
