An anthology of Irish literature has been published in China as part of the ongoing festival of Irish arts and culture in the world’s most populous nation.

The book was launched at a reception in the Irish Embassy in Beijing last night.

Poems by Paul Muldoon and Nuala Ní Domhnaill were recited in both Irish and Chinese at the launch ceremony.

The anthology was compiled by Chen Shu, a professor of English at Beijing’s Foreign Studies University who spent one year as a visiting scholar at Trinity College Dublin in the mid-1980s.
