INO want Louth hospital decision reversed
The Irish Nurses' Organisation has threatened to go to the Labour Court unless the North Eastern Health Board reverses its decision to cut consultant surgery hours at Louth County Hospital.
The board has announced plans to end 24-hour consultant surgery cover at the hospital in Dundalk from July.
It said consultant surgeons based at the Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda would instead be on call to attend Louth County Hospital after 5pm.
The INO has vowed to take the matter to the Labour Court unless the decision is reversed within the next 24 hours.
