Conference aims to raise EU awareness

A group of 160 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 is gathering in Dublin this morning to learn more about the European Union.

A group of 160 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 is gathering in Dublin this morning to learn more about the European Union.

The conference is part of Ireland's presidency of the EU and is designed to create a greater awareness of EU matters.

Minister for Youth Affairs, Síle de Valera, who is hosting the event, has recently visited 36 schools. She says more contact is needed between politicians and young people.
