Government to invest €5bn in water and sewerage

€5bn is to be invested into the country's water and sewerage infrastructure.

The Water Services Investment Programme affects 869 schemes.

Announcing the scheme, Environment Minister Martin Cullen said the development of such schemes had contributed to a consistent and very high quality of drinking water.
