Govt urged to improve fire service
The Chief Fire Officers Association has called on the Government to implement the findings of a review of fire safety in Ireland that was commissioned two years ago.
The association said the implementation of the review’s recommendations was necessary to eradicate deficiencies in the fire service and to improve the service overall.
The matter is due to be discussed today at the association’s annual conference in Wexford.
Conference delegates are also due to discuss ways to co-ordinate responses between local fire services in the event of a major disaster like the Madrid bomb attacks.
