Four quizzed over Belfast death

Police were tonight questioning four men after a man’s body was found on a street in north Belfast.

A murder investigation was launched when the discovery was made close to the Midland building on York Street at around 4am.

All four men were arrested after turning themselves into police voluntarily.

The victim, who was in his early 20s, has been formally identified and his family informed. It is not yet known how he died.

The area has been sealed off throughout day as forensic teams conducted detailed examinations.

Detectives said there was nothing at this stage to suggest the man was the victim of a sectarian attack or that there was any paramilitary involvement.

Taxi drivers and motorists who were in the area between 4am and 5am have been asked to contact police.
