Local hospitals group co-ordinates campaign against Hanly
Local hospital groups are meeting today to co-ordinate their campaign against the Hanly health service reforms ahead of the local and European elections.
The Hospital Services Action Group will tell their supporters to vote for candidates who reject plans to centralise accident and emergency departments into a network of regional super-hospitals.
Anti-Hanly campaigner, Kathleen O'Meara, says that establishing a single national health authority is counter-productive.
She claims that centralisation will not save money but merely take the local voice out of healthcare.
