Gardaí arrest three after foiling robbery
Gardaí in Co Limerick have arrested three men in connection with a plan to carry out a robbery on a financial institution.
Gardaí said the three men, who were wearing balaclavas, were spotted as they entered the village of Bruree in a car shortly after 10am.
A Garda patrol stopped the car and arrested the three without incident. A firearm, believed to be a handgun, was also recovered from the vehicle.
Gardaí said they believed the men had intended to hold up a financial institution in the Bruree/Bruff/Kilmallock area.
