Truck driver dies in Cavan road accident

A man in his late 50s has died after the truck he was driving crashed in Co Cavan last night.

Gardaí said no other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened shortly after 6pm at Tierahood in Stradone.

The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on his body today.

Gardaí are withholding his name until all next of kin are informed.
