€33m spent on Easter eggs

4.6 million Easter eggs are expected to be eaten today.

As the nation prepares to tuck in, parents and consumer groups have voiced their concerns over the spending frenzy that now goes with national holidays.

Eleanor Petrie, President of the National Parents' Council, says €33m has been spent on chocolate alone.
