SF and SDLP demand action on Finucane
Sinn Féin and the SDLP both vowed today to keep up the pressure for an immediate public inquiry into the Finucane murder.
SDLP spokesman Alex Atwood said there was no justification for delaying the inquiry and he would be contacting US Senators Edward Kennedy and John Kerry to seek their support for an inquiry.
Sinn Féin spokesman Pat Doherty, meanwhile, said PSNI chief constable Hugh Orde’s claim that inquiries into collusion would undermine confidence in his force showed that Mr Orde was aware that many people involved in such collusion were still working in senior policing positions.
