Young FG to launch homeowner petition

Young Fine Gael is launching a new nationwide petition campaign for fair taxes for young homebuyers.

The Government gets around 45% of the price of a new home in the form of taxes and charges.

Some 74% of new houses bought in 2003 were by under-35s. YFG president William Lavelle says the Government take is "an unfair tax on young people".
