Labour leader slams govt funding for Punchestown centre

Labour Party leader Pat Rabbitte has launched a scathing attack on the Government over its decision to fund the construction of an equestrian centre at the Punchestown Racecourse in Co Kildare.

The Dáil public accounts committee said yesterday that the Department of Finance’s own funding guidelines were ignored when the money was allocated.
