Fine Gael TD Richard Bruton has called for changes in the social partnership model to ensure that future public spending delivers value for money.

Mr Bruton also said that citizens should be given a greater role in making decisions that affect public services, that consumer rights should be paramount in the social partnership process and that the process should be used to tackle profiteering in Ireland.
