Progressive Democrat Minister of State Tom Parlon has called on more people in the private sector to bring investment into regional towns.

Speaking at the PD annual conference in Killarney, Tom Parlon also said that the Government hopes to get a deregation from Europe whereby farmers can protect their stock without sacrificing their clean water.

Speaking on regionalisation Tom Parlon says decentralisation will be delivered and 10,000 jobs will be relocated to the regions.

He said if the Department of Foreign Affairs can operate offices across several continents then the Government can do the same across 26 counties.

Tom Parlon called on more investors to set up businesses in regional towns. In relation to farming, Tom Parlon attacked the Green Party over its policies on the transportation of live animals.

He said the Green's should not and will not be allowed to disrupt Ireland's most important industry.
