CWU discussing next step in dispute with An Post
The national executive of the Communications Workers Union is meeting in Dublin this afternoon to discuss the next step in its dispute with An Post.
The union’s members at An Post have already voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action because of the dispute over the implementation of pay and reward agreements negotiated in recent years.
The row escalated last Friday when An Post began suspending workers at its Dublin Mail Centre for refusing to comply with new sorting arrangements that they say were introduced without consultation.
The CWU has been reluctant to call a nationwide postal strike because of the matter, but a stoppage may now be on the cards following the collapse of talks at the Labour Relations Commission last night.
