Cash stolen in raid on Dublin betting shop

Two men have escaped with several thousand euros in cash following a raid on a betting shop in Dublin this morning.

The pair, who were armed with a screwdriver, waited for staff to turn up at Joe Molloy’s bookmakers on Collins Avenue in Donneycarney before forcing them to open a safe.

A female staff member was locked in a toilet during the raid, but nobody was injured.

The incident happened at around 10am.
