SIPTU grassroots considers legal action against leadership

SIPTU’s CIE strike committee is considering the possibility of legal action against the union leadership’s decision to call off today’s bus and rail strike.

The planned 24-hour stoppage was cancelled at the last minute last night on the orders of SIPTU president Jack O’Connor.

The SIPTU strike committee accused the leadership of going behind the backs of workers by calling off the strike.
