Bush calls for end to violence in North

There can be no place for paramilitaries in the North, US President George W. Bush claimed tonight.

During St Patrick’s Day celebrations in the White House involving the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, Mr Bush called for “a permanent end to all political violence” in the North.
