ASTI demand action on binge drinking
Secondary school teachers are demanding action on binge drinking among teenagers.
The ASTI has called for cross-departmental co-operation to deal with the issue.
It follows revelations that Ireland has, in percentage terms, a higher number of regular drinkers than any other EU country.
ASTI President Pat Cahill, has said: “The problem is becoming so acute and so widespread that if we don’t do something about it we are going to store up something that is going to cost a lot of money to solve.”
