Councils in line for smoking ban windfall

Ireland’s county councils are reportedly in line for an unexpected windfall due to the Government’s ban on smoking in workplaces.

Reports this morning said demand for rented footpath space outside pubs and restaurants was soaring because of the impending ban, which is due to come into force on March 29.
