Hauliers asked to ensure estates not blocked
Hauliers have been asked to ensure that their drivers refrain from parking large trucks and lorries in residential housing estates.
Businesses have also been asked to act responsibly by not allowing their trucks to be illegally parked in housing estates. The call has been made by TD John Curran.
Last month, the ban on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) came into operation but the level of awareness has been criticised by the Dublin-based Fianna Fail TD.
"This is a very important road safety measure for housing estates and other residential areas but I believe that large numbers of people are unaware of its existence," said Deputy Curran.
