A 12-year-old girl and her 37-year-old cousin have escaped injury after a shot was fired at a house in Belfast last night.

The two were washing dishes at the house, in the Lower Falls area of west Belfast, when the bullet hit the back door.

The man, who does not want to be identified, says that when he went to investigate, a bullet fell out of the door.

He said he was not a member of any political party, and can't understand why he was targeted.

The local Sinn Féin councillor is blaming loyalists for the attack.
