The company that manages the Temple Bar area of Dublin has unveiled proposals to give visitors the chance to see the city from the sky.

Temple Bar Properties said it was hoping to moor a helium balloon in the River Liffey near Grattan Bridge to give tourists a bird’s-eye view of Dublin.

The balloon would rise to a height of 250 metres and could carry up to 30 people.

Temple Bar Properties insisted that the project was merely a proposal at this stage and may never come to fruition.
