Gilmartin to begin Mahon evidence next Wednesday

Property developer Tom Gilmartin is due to begin his long-awaited evidence to the Mahon Tribunal next Wednesday.

Mr Gilmartin is expected to tell the tribunal about widespread corruption in the planning process in the late 1980s. He is expected to say that he gave £50,000 to Fianna Fáil in 1989 in return for favours relating to the planned development of a shopping centre.
