Gardaí in Dublin have named the five people who died in a horrific bus accident in the city on Saturday afternoon.

The three women and two men died when a bus mounted the pavement on Wellington Quay and ploughed into a group of people waiting to board another bus.

The victims were 43-year-old Teresa Keatley, from Ballymun; 59-year-old Margaret Traynor, from Darndale; 69-year-old Kathleen Gillen, from Maynooth; 33-year-old Vasul Tyminskyy, a Ukrainian living in Lucan and 43-year-old Kevin Garry, from Leixlip.

Seven people remain in hospital after the crash, most of them with serious injuries.

Gardaí and Dublin Bus have both launched investigations into the accident and the Dublin Bus board of directors is due to meet today to discuss the situation.
