Green Party signs European charter

The foundation charter for the new European Green Party has today been signed in Italy.

The new group is comprised of parties from 31 countries and will campaign in June's European elections under a joint banner, with a unified publicity campaign.

The Irish contingent is headed up by party leader Trevor Sargent, who added his signature to the new charter at the Mayor's residence in Rome this morning.
