Green parties join forces

Green parties from around Europe are joining forces to fight in the EU parliament for environmental protection.

Greens from 31 countries are meeting in Rome this weekend to launch the new European Green Party.

They plan to fight the upcoming European elections with a united publicity campaign.

Irish Green leader Trevor Sargent says his party can learn lessons from its sister organisations.
