Gardaí hunt youth after Limerick shooting

Gardaí were today investigating a shooting at the home of the grandparents of a four-year-old girl who died after a petrol bomb attack on a neighbouring house last year.

The incident happened close to Limerick city centre early today, when shots were fired into the front door of the house.

Occupants Jim and Norah Roche were uninjured, but a youth was spotted running from the scene soon afterwards.

Mr and Mrs Roche’s granddaughter Katelyn Ryan died when a petrol bombing destroyed her family's house just two doors away, in April last year.

Last month, 22-year-old Patrick Slattery, from Limerick, was jailed for life for murder.
