Phone industry planning Code of Practice

Representatives of the mobile phone industry say they are working on a Code of Practice to police information and images transmittable on camera phones.

Ireland's three main networks are expected to adopt the code in the next few months.

Companies in Britain have recently produced a similar code in the light of dangers to children who access adult material on their phones.

The Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on Communications Noel O'Flynn says lawmakers will help in whatever way they can.
